Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking an Art Director, Corporate Marketing who will bring Geotab's visual strategy to life through end-to-end execution of design projects, turning strategic goals into compelling visual experiences while maintaining high design standards throughout the process. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

As an Art Director, Corporate Marketing your key area of responsibility will be leading the creative execution of visual design projects from concept to completion, ensuring all deliverables uphold and evolve the Geotab brand identity across global touchpoints. You will be responsible for developing impactful visual solutions for various business challenges, managing creative projects efficiently, and coordinating resources and feedback loops to ensure successful delivery on time and to specifications. You will need to work closely with the Creative Director, Creative Solutions team members, various internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate creative visions into reality and maintain brand consistency across all visual communications.

To be successful in this role you will be a creative problem-solver with strong project leadership abilities, excellent collaboration skills, and the capacity to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong design background with proven experience in visual strategy execution, brand identity management, and the ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining high creative standards and meeting strategic business objectives.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Set the visual tone and art direction of campaigns, ideating concepts, leading design, and working with internal and external teams, including external resources including  photographers, illustrators, and digital and video production studios to bring concepts to life, in addition to being able to produce high quality designs themself.

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other departments to understand project goals and translate them into compelling visuals. Understanding the context that lies behind a project’s business and communications need, and the key proposition and creative brief that is provided, including the target audience and proposed media to be used in the campaign.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including Marketing Managers, Content Writers, Video, Digital and Product Design teams to create meaningful experiences for our customers and employees.

  • Present ideas to the Creative Director for approval and development, amending the look through several stages of concepts and executions. Present concepts and recommendations to stakeholders with strong rationale to support.

  • Distinguish between a core idea and the executional possibilities it gives rise to. Capture and address feedback with the ability to defend concepts where required.

  • Work within established brand guidelines with a balance between maintaining brand consistency while pushing creative boundaries.

  • Ensure consistency in visual style across all platforms and channels.

  • Contribute to ensuring things are well designed and that the brand is upheld through brand reviews, consultancy and acting as an additional mentor to internal and external Graphic Designers.

  • Generate and maintain enthusiasm for ideas within the team, as they move from concept to execution, with a positive approach to client and research feedback.

  • Produce sketches, visual references and storyboards to convey the concept to the Creative Director, and other key stakeholders and creative executors.

  • Maintain and follow creative project workflow processes, collaborating within the workflow tools with the Production Manager and stakeholders, to ensure efficiency and transparency.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 4+ years experience in a Senior- level creative role, working as the creative lead in one or more of these areas: brand identity development, creative support for events, campaigns, or creative strategy.
  • Hands-on design skillset with strong conceptual skills and a demonstrated ability to push creative boundaries and drive innovative visual solutions.

  • Familiar with AI tools for efficiency and creative output quality, as well as a desire to continually build knowledge in this area.

  • A team player, who can operate effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Experience mentoring or providing art direction to other designers.

  • Tenacious and resilient throughout the frustrations of an iterative process.

  • Stays up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, with experience in evolving fundamentals of a strong brand awareness strategy. On top of the latest production techniques, tools and materials. Keen to learn from other creatives and legendary art directors.

  • Advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite and other industry standard tools in a Mac environment.

  • Expert knowledge of design specs and media requirements for print and digital applications.

  • Effective communication and excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Experience working in-house and agency side.

  • Understanding of performance metrics for visual design in a marketing or events context.

  • Motion graphics / animation and video editing experience a plus.

  • Experience with Google Suite, especially Google Slides and template building.

  • Familiarity with project management/marketing tracking software (Wrike/Jira etc.)

If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
