What you'll do:
As an Art Director your key area of responsibility will be driving the creative vision for Geotab Connect and other external events, going beyond design management to elevate our brand, innovate event aesthetics, and deliver cohesive and electrifying visual narratives across every platform. You will be challenged to transform brilliant concepts into stunning reality while strategically shaping the visual experience that defines our most important annual event. You will need to work closely with event management teams, marketing and brand teams, external vendors and creative agencies, cross-functional stakeholders across the organization, and partners and customers to ensure alignment with their experience expectations.
To be successful in this role you will be a strategic thinker and creative powerhouse with exceptional artistic vision, strong leadership abilities to guide creative teams, excellent communication skills to articulate and sell creative concepts, and the ability to innovate while maintaining brand consistency. In addition, the successful candidate will have proven experience in large-scale event design and art direction, strong project management skills with the ability to execute complex creative projects from concept to completion, expertise in translating brand strategy into compelling visual experiences, and the capability to work under pressure while delivering high-quality creative solutions on tight timelines.
How you'll make an impact:

Lead the development and execution of the overarching visual strategy and brand identity for Geotab Connect, ensuring seamless alignment with the corporate brand and a compelling experience for attendees.

Collaborate strategically with the Senior Creative Operations Manager, Events and Production Manager, Events to ensure that creative projects are feasible, stay on schedule, and are delivered within budget, while contributing to budget planning for visual elements.

Partner with and influence internal stakeholders to establish a long term creative vision for core events that pushes boundaries and enhances engagement.

Translate complex business objectives into insightful and innovative visual concepts that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, engaging and consistently uphold brand expression and standards.

Create layouts, mockups and prototypes with a high level of fidelity as required to effectively illustrate/convey design ideas to other members of the team, management, and external vendors.

Stay abreast of the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices in event design and visual communication.

The focus for Geotab Connect and upholding the visual brand standards for its various program areas including (but not limited to):

Agenda Programming: work collaboratively with senior leadership to translate their messaging into impactful and compelling visuals. Direct external resources to ensure high-quality, production-ready, packaged files.

Wayfinding signage: conceptualize and design a comprehensive, user-friendly system for navigating the unique annual venue.

Show floor assets: Collaborate with sponsors, exhibitors, and internal Geotab teams to create a cohesive and integrated brand experience.

Websites: Work closely with designated website resources to ensure brand standards are maintained and new assets are compliant across all online event-related resources.

Social Media: Collaborate with designated social media resources to ensure visual brand standards are maintained.
What you'll bring to the role:

4+ years experience in a senior level creative role, working as the creative lead in areas such as brand identity development, creative support for events, campaigns, or creative strategy.

Bachelor of Design (BDes) or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field.

Effective communication and excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
-
Experience working in-house and agency side.
-
Demonstrated ability to push creative boundaries and drive innovative visual solutions.

Experience mentoring or providing art direction to other designers.
-
Understanding of performance metrics for visual design in a marketing/events context.

Strong, conceptual portfolio demonstrating big idea thinking across print, digital and environmental and experiential design, specifically relating to large scale events.

Adobe Creative Suite and other industry standard design tools.

Expert knowledge of design specs and media requirements for print and digital applications.

Strong sense of visual style: strong layout, typography and graphics standards.

Motion graphics / animation and video editing experience a plus.

Experienced and thrives in a fast paced, high volume environment.

Experience and willingness to work with AI tools.

Experience with Google Suite, especially Google Slides and template building.

Familiarity with project management/marketing tracking software (Jira is an asset).
