The Event Sponsorship and Exhibitor Manager is a dynamic and results-oriented professional responsible for driving significant revenue growth for Geotab's flagship Geotab Connect conference and regional Connect events. In this pivotal role, they develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets of over $1 million for both exhibitor and sponsorship sales. This individual excels at identifying and engaging potential exhibitors and sponsors, crafting compelling proposals, and negotiating agreements that deliver mutual value. A key aspect of the position involves building and nurturing strong, long-lasting relationships with current and prospective clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
What you'll do:
As a Event Sponsorship and Exhibitor Manager your key area of responsibility will be close collaboration with various internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and alignment with strategic goals. The Event Sponsorship and Exhibitor Manager contributes to the development of promotional materials, manages financial processes related to exhibitor and sponsor accounts, and actively seeks opportunities to enhance processes and service offerings. Onsite event support for exhibitor and sponsor services and fulfillment is also a key responsibility. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales, relationship management, and event collaboration, who is passionate about delivering high-quality, innovative events.
How you'll make an impact
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to exceed $1 million in annual revenue from Marketplace exhibitors at Geotab Connect.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify and engage potential exhibitors through targeted outreach and industry networks.
- Create compelling exhibitor proposals and packages tailored to the needs and objectives of potential exhibitors.
- Negotiate exhibitor agreements, secure commitments, and close deals that align with company goals and provide value to exhibitors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective exhibitors to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive sponsorship sales strategy for annual Geotab Connect conferences and regional Connect events to exceed $1 million in annual revenue.
- Assist in identifying and engaging potential sponsors through targeted outreach.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create compelling sponsorship proposals and packages.
- Support negotiation and closing of sponsorship agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify client needs and respond creatively to provide tailored solutions.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure seamless execution and alignment with event goals.
- Deliver programs and events that meet high standards of execution and encourage innovation and creativity in event planning.
- Support Geotab's global strategic initiatives.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to ensure retention and business growth through repeat events and developed relationships.
- Assist in developing promotional materials and messaging for sales campaigns.
- Work with Events team senior leaders and Finance team to manage exhibitor collections, cancellations, changes, and payments.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes or service offerings to increase ROI and client satisfaction.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on sales activities and results.
- Assist with onsite exhibitor and sponsor service and fulfillment for Geotab Connect and other events.
What you'll bring to the role
- Strong oral and written communication competency, with proven ability to influence external/internal stakeholders i.e. senior executives.
- Deep understanding of exhibit and sponsorship trends, with a proven ability to create compelling packages and proposals.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and identify solutions.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment.
- Competence using software programs, including, but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Degree Specialization in Business Administration, Marketing or related.
- CMP Designation (Certified Meeting Planner) highly valued.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted.
