Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Business Affairs Manager who is responsible for supporting the sales and business development teams on various commercial contracts.  

What you'll do:

This role includes identifying risks and gaps in sales and operations contracts through the deal process, as well as the drafting and negotiation of contracts and ongoing commercial contract management. This position works closely with stakeholders, external partners, sales and operations teams, and other internal departments in order to generate initial contract drafting and managing a commercial contract from initial drafting through to signature.

How you'll make an impact

  • Document business principles for an opportunity and facilitate the movement of the opportunity through the deal review process.

  • Draft a variety of different types of contract agreements, amendments and notices.

  • Review and validate documents/contracts to ensure that all parties involved in the agreement are accepting of the terms presented in the document/contract.

  • Collaborate with Legal teams for contractual support.

  • Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and highlight or pre-empt areas of weakness or action that are needed to alleviate future roadblocks.

  • Manage and participate in projects related to the management and compliance activities relating to commercial contracts.

  • Provide document status reports detailing expected delivery time-frames and key challenges.

  • Read and review contract agreements appropriately and assess potential risks.

  • Responsible for contribution to the departmental Wiki and Need to Know updates.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 5-8 years of experience in contracting drafting, negotiation and management.

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to collaborate as well as work independently.

  • Organizational and Project Management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to lead meetings, projects.

  • Excellent drafting ability.

  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides)

  • Experience with CRM and other tools (e.g. Salesforce, JIRA, Lucid Charts, LinkSquare)

  • Ability to read and review contract agreements appropriately and assess risk.

  • Experience in sales and or sales support would be considered an asset.

  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization
