Geotab is seeking a Business Development Manager - Shared Mobility to focus on Geotab’s keyless platform/business in order to drive sustainable financial growth and develop strong relationships with partners.

What you'll do:

The Business Development Manager for Shared Mobility is responsible for the growth and development of new business relationships for the Geotab Keyless solution.

How you'll make an impact

  • Prospect, research, identify and hunt new Keyless Partners for assigned markets that are most relevant to the Geotab Keyless Solution.

  • Work closely with the legal department on creation of legal agreements that are relevant to the Geotab Keyless Solution.

  • Create, evaluate, and implement strategic business plans for the growth and development of Keyless Partners globally.

  • Monitor and update business development activity within associated tools and maintain a pipeline of activity through the development of partners.

  • Through outbound market research and analysis, target new Partners that fill a need, market segment, or a price point and that align with the vision and mission.

  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop Geotab’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

  • Provide expert leadership and guidance as a partner Keyless Partner SME:

  • Develop a deep knowledge base of the industry and maintain top-of-mind awareness of trends and shifts.

  • Stay informed on the current competitive landscape in the category including leaders and startups.  

  • Attend trade shows and speak at conferences to build relationships, brand presence, and thought leadership and identify potential new partner opportunities.

  • Be available to BDM Team, Partner Account Managers (PAMs) & Resellers to educate and share knowledge as a partner SME.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Proven track record in developing new sales, partners, and accounts.

  • Experience in the Shared Mobility Industry: carsharing (public/private), vehicle pools in public and private sector fleets, or enabling deskless rental.

  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements.

  • Able to anticipate and understand customer’s needs and provide viable solutions.

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.

  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.

  • Strong time management skills, an effective multi-tasker. 

  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.

  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset to identify the best opportunities to sell a new/emerging product market category and comfortable in a flat organization.

The annual base salary for this position is anticipated to be the range listed below. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position would depend on a variety of factors such as but not specific to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives or intends to live while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
