Assist in managing the overall global corporate maintenance of Geotab and its domestic and foreign subsidiaries, including the filing of ongoing annual returns.
Perform a variety of legal and administrative duties while coordinating and assisting paralegals or lawyers.
Review and draft a variety of official documents and contracts within the Legal team.
Formatting, transmitting and processing documents through electronic means and, occasionally, physical signatures.
Providing general administrative assistance to the Corporate Secretary and Associate General Counsel and the legal team.
Perform commercial administrative tasks within the Legal department to ensure best practice and procedure adherence.
Act as the commercial legal operations expert on managing transaction flow and signature approval matrix.
5+ years of experience as a corporate law clerk in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably with experience supporting transactional and commercial work.
Experience in multiple jurisdictions is an asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write and speak multiple languages an asset.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
A strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.
Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides.) and CLMs.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Ability to pay attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Completion of law clerk program recognized by the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario or similar accreditation is an asset.
