Geotab is always looking for amazing people who can build products customers love. Geotab is looking for a Senior UX Researcher to help us continue to improve MyGeotab and Geotab Drive. MyGeotab is a web-based fleet management software that is available to all Geotab customers. It allows customers to see vehicle and driver information in one place so they can make quicker, better-informed decisions for their businesses. Geotab Drive is an all-in-one driver compliance solution that streamlines regulatory compliance, vehicle inspections, messaging and more. This smart mobile app works with the Geotab hardware in the vehicle to help drivers stay compliant, improve fleet productivity, and stay safe. What are the details of this position
As Senior UX Researcher, reporting to the Product Design Manager, you will work across multiple teams. You will have a special role in building understanding about our users and their requirements, as well as providing insight and influencing product changes. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of Product Designers, Product Managers and Developers to deliver the best products and experiences to our customers around the world.
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Geotab product offerings as well as the business to understand overall product organization

  • Independently define research objectives and proposals

  • Articulate research questions based on the analysis of existing product designs, customers needs, goals, risks and priorities with multiple teams and use a range of research methods to answer them

  • Develop an understanding of product processes, regulations, challenges and other variables depending on location

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data in order to generate strategic and tactical insights along with actionable recommendations to drive product design and development in order to improve customer experience

  • Inform the product road map by understanding and advocating for customer needs across industries and geographies

  • Collaborate with the design team, product management, development and other stakeholders to incorporate user and customer perspectives into product design and development

  • Communicate results and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways to all levels of management

Experience/Skills Required
  • 5 - 7 years of professional experience in user research, product research, design research methods

  • Experience scoping and prioritizing research; planning, data gathering, analysis, summarizing and sharing findings are key to be successful in this role

  • Experience applying a range of research methods with critical thinking and creativity; a little scrappiness is essential

  • Experience using various research methods and familiarity with combining qualitative and quantitative data

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships between departments

  • Proficient in UserZoom and Validately, or other relevant tools is nice to have
