Who we are looking for
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking an experienced Team Lead for our growing Security Operations team. If you have a passion for people, process, and security we want to hear from you!
What are the details of this position
As a Security Operations Team Lead, your key area of responsibility will be to lead a team of talented Security Operations Engineers as well as work with the Security leadership team to conduct team meetings and communicate tasks and expectations to team members. This role requires strong people leadership skills along with the ability to manage projects and direct work.
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions
  • Develop end-to-end understanding of Geotab's security programs and data infrastructure.

  • Oversee direct reports from the Security Operations team, to address all development, technology and operational requirements

  • Coordinate daily team deliverables to ensure alignment with department commitments

  • Manage and prioritize team workflow, allocation and deadlines on multiple projects, in collaboration with project Subject Matter Experts, including conducting weekly meetings

  • Regularly report on project status, improvements, and future possibilities

  • Work on security-related projects to ensure they are implemented correctly, from a detail management standpoint

  • Assist in the design of security-related processes to cover both compliance requirements and to decrease risk

  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve on security-related risks

  • Develop project status reports

  • Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identify areas for new training or skill checks

  • Assist with hiring processes and new team member training

  • Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance

  • Work with the manager to address performance issues as required, and participate in regular performance management meetings and reviews

  • Participate in management training courses

Experience/Skills Required
  • Post Secondary Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field

  • 3+ years of leadership and project management skills

  • 2+ years of experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability

  • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security

  • Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions

  • Experience with multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies

  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook

  • Security+, CISSP, and ITIL are strongly preferred certifications.
