Who you are

We’re searching for a creative individual enthusiastic about graphic design. As a Graphic Design Intern you will develop designs and layouts for use across digital, mobile and print media, including logos, brochures, ebooks, social media images, website assets, motion graphics, and event materials. The successful candidate will have a passion for innovation and creativity!

What you'll do

As a Graphic Design Intern, your key area of responsibility will be to help support creative initiatives at Geotab. You will work closely with the Creative Director, other designers on the Creative Team, as well as other colleagues throughout Geotab. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong design, written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to work within the brand guidelines to develop effective solutions, have strong attention to detail and be able to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.

How you'll make an impact
  • Help design images for social media and blogs, including animated gifs and static images

  • Help design assets that are optimized for the web, such as banners and images for our digital properties

  • Provide images and information to communications team for editorial and social, print and web opportunities

  • Support image and design requests for video projects

  • Assist in working with external designers and vendors to ensure deadlines are met

  • Support Geotab’s event activities by executing required imagery and files required for promo items and event-related material such as ads, inserts, and other event visuals

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of docket and file system

What you'll bring to this role
  • Completing a Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design

  • Portfolio that includes examples of graphic design work for both online and print - motion graphics is an asset

  • Experience in a similar role is considered an asset

  • Demonstrated ability with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Proven background in design and design production for both the digital and print medium through work or courses

  • Innovative design and conceptual skills with an understanding of current methods, techniques and trends

  • Strong knowledge of page layout, photographic requirements and printing/publishing procedures and standards

  • Proficiency in the use of Google workspace is an asset
