We are currently seeking a Learning and Development Manager to drive our learning culture forward, ensuring all Geotabbers have the tools to advance their skills and achieve success. You should be passionate about sharing knowledge and helping people grow in all stages of their careers, from new hires to senior employees. What are the details of this position
In this role, you will manage the end-to-end onboarding, learning and development process for all departments at Geotab. You will be responsible for communicating expectations and initiatives to business leaders, managers, instructional designers, and training specialists. This will ensure all learning and development programs are high quality, consistent, accurate and implemented properly. You will collaborate cross-functionally with key departments to ensure we have a unified voice across all learning programs at Geotab.
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions
  • Build an employee training and development roadmap to ensure consistent and progressive evolution according to business needs

  • Oversee the creation of in-house training sessions that include a blended approach to learning such as coaching, classroom training, e-learning and virtual platforms

  • Manage and build a team of trainers and learning specialists

  • Create and execute a scalable leadership development program

  • Evaluate and help manage individual and organizational development needs and develop training programs as needed

  • Develop a global onboarding program enabling new Geotabbers to be successful within the first three months of employment; maintain and update the global onboarding curriculum to ensure it is continually up-to-date and relevant

  • Create and manage department onboarding

  • Establish and manage a detailed annual training calendar relating to mandatory legislative training and ongoing Geotab learning

  • Report on training metrics and track the completion of training courses

  • Suggest and implement various learning methods company wide (e.g. e-learning, live training sessions, job-shadowing, outsourced training providers)

  • Assist with the content creation and design of new courses, workshops and training

  • Partner with the HR generalists and managers to assess the success of employee development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities

  • Partner with the HR generalists to help managers develop their team members through career pathing

  • Work closely with the HR team to ensure that all initiatives are effectively and efficiently coordinated, communicated and rolled out

  • Ensure programs are created with a global scope in mind and work with localized HR teams to roll out consistent programs across the organization.

  • Drive knowledge-sharing within the company for each department using tools like Wikis, “Lunch and Learn” sessions, videos, etc.

  • Must be familiar with blended learning and be able to incorporate into program and content design

Experience/Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or Business

  • Certification or experience in Adult Education 

  • Proven experience as an L&D Manager

  • Up-to-date knowledge of effective learning and development methods

  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices

  • Experience in project management and budgeting

  • Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen

  • Ability to build rapport with employees
