Who we are looking for
We are looking for amazing talent, someone who can grow our regional sales efforts and deliver results! Geotab is actively seeking a Business Development Manager help us create, evaluate and implement strategic business plans for the growth and development of opportunities within Truck, Truck Resellers and scaling our Reseller network. The successful candidate is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair who can manage multiple contrasting timelines. Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions
  • Create, evaluate and implement strategic business plans for the growth and development of opportunities within Truck, Truck Resellers and scaling our Reseller network more generally

  • Support team to increase sales via lead share programs, factory installs, aftermarket programs, and Reseller programs with Truck OEMs

  • Work with the local team and Channel Manager, Europe upon identifying potential new truck and general Resellers to engage Partner Account Management team who will be responsible for forecasting and developing day to day sales

  • Develop business under Geotab operating procedures and include Operations early in the discussion of any non-standard reseller models

  • Identify new areas for growth; propose and manage programs and initiatives to grow key relationships internally and collaborate with other segments of the business to bring Truck projects to completion

  • Provide input on new business opportunities, competitive analysis, market trends, and business environment

  • Gain knowledge, insight and understanding from key stakeholders decision-makers with Reseller organisations to identify needs/challenges

  • Protect existing base with supported resellers through employing best practices both in person and virtually

  • Create mind share within your partner base by consistently and effectively communicating industry and Geotab EU specific news, events and happenings

  • Communicate regularly with existing partners to cultivate their enthusiasm for continued investment in the Geotab solution, with at least quarterly engagement with all key partners

  • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with your agents and their prospective customers

  • Regular input and upkeep of business development opportunities, activity, and closures in Salesforce as key repository

  • Ad-hoc support for PAMs engaging their partner agents on Geotab via in-person meetings, lunch-and-learn opportunities, webinars and participate in customer calls and appointments

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Geotab products and ancillary products

  • Increase your personal knowledge of the industry by either attending trade shows, conferences, events, seminars, etc.

Experience/Skills Required
  • Truck and/or Truck Reseller experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required

  • 3-5 years experience in telematics a strong asset

  • 8+ years experience in strategic business development capacity for channel sales organisation

  • International work experience would be a plus

  • Service fleet and general telematics experience would be beneficial

  • Ability to travel

  • Technically competent software programs, including but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Salesforce, and Excel

  • Skilled at communicating with external clients in both technical and non-technical discussions

  • Fluency in English. German fluency desired. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical skills, and the ability to anticipate and understand clients' business needs
