We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineering who will be responsible for designing and developing automated tests and writing and maintaining automated test plans.

What you’ll do:
You will focus on creating resilient and reliable automated tests that are performant and scale across teams while improving Quality Assurance processes and best practices. This position will collaborate with various stakeholders including their peers, Project Managers, Product Managers, and Developers. The Senior Test Automation Developer will act as a code quality domain expert across projects within their team and will mentor their peers on the craft. The Senior Automation Developer will also be a fully contributing developer as a secondary priority.
How you’ll make an impact
Collaborate with stakeholders to define, create and execute test automation strategies and frameworks.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well designed test cases.
Build, maintain, and enhance tools that streamline and automate all forms of testing that scale and can support multiple teams.
Manage test coverage, test environment creation, and maintenance.
Drive continuous improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness.
Work with Product to understand how users are utilizing current and new features/ improvements.
Work closely with Quality Assurance Analysts and Software Developers on developing solutions.
Automate existing manual test cases and design/write new test automation.
Build and maintain effective integration, smoke, and regression test suites.
Build and contribute to CI/CD pipelines as necessary. Proactively monitor logs and create scripts to scrape logs and report issues.
Proactively identify improvement opportunities in product development and quality assurance processes.
Recommend innovative ideas to automate processes in order to reduce manual effort and implement.
Assist with the delivery of software releases into production.
Complete manual testing as required.
Work with developers to empower them to utilize automated testing tools and techniques.
Stay current with new testing technologies and drive initiatives to progress internally.
What you’ll bring to this role
Post-Secondary Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
5-8 years experience in automated testing with SaaS products or similar.
Understand the core tenets of software development, able to write reliable automation tests & scripts, and modify application code for test automation.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
Expert understanding and experience writing automated tests (C# or Python is preferred).
Strong familiarity with a wide array of QA practices, processes, and tools.
Expert at three or more of QA Automation, Manual Testing, Security Testing, Performance Testing, Agile QA.
Experience with Cloud environments.
Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure automation .
Ability to switch between big picture thinking and hands-on implementation.
Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve.
Strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Technical competence using a wide array of software programs, including but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
