We are looking for an IT Compliance Specialist to facilitate a robust, secure and compliant data regime to protect both the company and customers' assets and privacy. What are the details of this position
The IT Compliance Specialist is responsible for the assessment, verification, review, and audit of controls across the company. The successful candidate will identify risks, evaluate deficiencies, as well as provide consultation and recommendations on remediation efforts, ensuring systems are in compliance with IT organizational policies, standards, procedures, and FedRAMP requirements. This position will be part of a team that is responsible for proactive technical support to internal staff for IT-Security-related issues as well as safeguarding all information system assets. The role will include managing RBAC (Role-based Access Control) including dynamic access control, entitlements to roles and rules, continuous asset management, employee provisioning, and de-provisioning. You will be a member of our IT team and work closely with our technical services team. You will be responsible for delivering high quality, cost-effective solutions to all levels of users and responsible for supporting the IT goals and objectives of Geotab.
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions
  • Compile, maintain, and keep up to date documentation on all areas of responsibility

  • Serve as the point of contact for RBAC, and compliance issues

  • Perform other tasks as necessary to ensure IT Compliance meets its commitments to customers

  • Develop, align and manage the execution of IT Compliance activities within the IT and Cybersecurity road map planning

  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of Geotab's security program and data infrastructure

  • Provide insight to technical security team members regarding technical controls and tool effectiveness

  • Design compliance-related processes to cover both policy requirements and to decrease security risk

  • Familiarity with programming/scripting language (Python, Powershell, etc.) and a strong desire to learn more and be hands-on

  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve compliance-related processes Assist IT leaders in developing effective IT Asset Management (ITAM) strategies, policy approaches, and practices across the full range of digital technology assets used within the organization

  • Identify and report on breaches of ITAM policy, and track their remediation

  • Ensure data completeness and quality issues are quickly identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners as well as accurate and timely reporting

  • Gather data on, and provide analysis of all activities that have an impact on the value and risk of digital technology asset life cycles

  • Support activities to strengthen the IT Compliance Program with emphasis on software approvals, RBACs, on-boarding, and off-boarding staff

  • Other ad hoc IT tasks as they arise

Experience/Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, or related field 

  • 2+ years of related work experience preferred 

  • Attention to detail and tenacious follows up in all matters of the job function

  • Good understanding, knowledge, and experience of managing systems running in different versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile, rapid deployment focused environments

  • Strong experience in an information risk or security-related role

  • Knowledge of IT management software tools

  • Strong communication skills and extensive experience working with business and technology stakeholders

  • The ability to work independently and collaborate with multi-functional teams

  • Security+ or CISA certification an asset
