Who are you:
The Product Cybersecurity Specialist is the SME for multiple Product Safety areas related to Cybersecurity and is Geotab's ambassador to various digital transportation organizations, conventions, and bodies.
What you'll do
The Product Cybersecurity Specialist (1) works in close partnership with the Product Safety team and external cybersecurity related organizations/affiliations to drive effective development, integration and adoption of standard methodologies, latest methods & techniques in identifying design flaws and software issues; (2) is responsible for flagging and escalating potentially business impacting cybersecurity issues and helping ensure overall security and protection of Geotab and its products; (3) represents Geotab as a security leader in digital transportation universe.
How you'll make an impact
Become intimately familiar with Geotab’s hardware, SaaS, and network security protocol, practices, and verification methods and testing for same
Actively participate in external collaboration involving associations such as; NMFTA, Auto-ISAC, US DOT VOLPE/Transport Canada, W3C/GENIVI standards body as relates to cybersecurity
Geotab representative on select CyberSecurity related standards developments such as; SAE, ISO, IEEE, WP-29
Liaise closely with Geotab Security to ensure they are informed of emerging security trends as discussed in external collaboration activities.
Flag and escalate cybersecurity issues that can affect Geotab and ensure concerns are identified and brought to the attention of Geotab Security
Review and provide input for Geotab Security’s annual device and network pen testing plan and testing program.
Drive effective integration and adoption of standard methodologies, latest methods & techniques in identifying design flaws and software issues
Conduct security risk assessments, analysis and monitoring.
Review and propose improvements to workflows, policies and practices.
Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you'll bring to this role
5-8 years of proven experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability.
Solid understanding of current security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security
Automotive or telecommunications background beneficial but not required
Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions
Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.
Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
