Geotab is seeking an Outbound Business Development Representative who will develop sales activity within their assigned segments/channels by presenting solutions to existing and prospective clients through outbound prospecting.
What you'll do:
As an Outbound Business Development Representative you will develop a deep knowledge of all Geotab solutions, in order to support partner technical needs as well as end customers/Business Development Managers (BDMs). The BDR for outbound will be responsible for generating new business opportunities through proactive outreach including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking at trade shows. This role requires a high level of persistence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients to convert leads into opportunities.
How you'll make an impact
- Maximize the opportunities available to our partners/BDMs by generating leads and converting prospects into opportunities for the assigned segment.
- Maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem and act as the subject matter expert (SME) to help prospects better understand the solutions available to their customer base.
- Reach out to prospective customers via outbound calls and lead submissions via live chat or website; engage prospects and successfully demonstrate capabilities of Geotab.
- Effectively identify prospect needs and communicate Geotab solutions while coordinating appointments for BDMs.
- Professionally represent Geotab with potential customers and prospects.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Geotab products, fleet purposes, needs, goals and objectives.
- Assist the PAM/BDM to gather key partner/customer information and accurately maintain Geotab’s CRM (Salesforce).
- Work with the Sales Manager/PAM/BDM to proactively manage the number of partners/customers in the pipeline in order to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Strive to meet and exceed both personal and team goals in net subscriptions.
- Gain knowledge, insight and understanding from the segment/account managers/BDMs regarding customer needs/challenges.
- Align your product pitch to the partner’s needs and core business.
- Participate in sales and channel development strategies to assist the company in optimizing information related to the industry and customer needs.
- Build company credibility, brand value, and trust within the assigned business channel and their customer base.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Geotab products, marketplace products, technology platforms and industry trends that impact the appropriate channel/network.
- Attend and support industry trade shows.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you'll bring to the role
- 1-3 years experience in technical sales, an understanding of fleet management and telematics preferred.
- Channel sales experience/knowledge preferred.
- Awareness of marketing principles and how to align outreach efforts with marketing campaigns and sales strategies.
- Able to clearly and persuasively communicate over the phone.
- Strong listening skills to understand needs and respond accordingly.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to document technology solutions in precise detail.
- Skilled at quickly developing rapport with potential customers.
- Able to persistently follow up with leads and not be discouraged by rejection.
- Strong skills in developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements.
- Ability to translate technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
