The Senior Events Specialist is pivotal in the delivery of world class events that are delivered on time, within budget and consistently drive performance impact. To be successful in this role you will need to be creative and dedicated to continually testing, measuring, learning and evolving your events programs.
What you'll do:
You bring energy and creativity every day as you help develop and implement event strategies that inform, educate and engage our partners and customers across the globe. You are comfortable managing a broad range of events and coordinating every detail within an allocated budget and in compliance with brand standards. You have significant communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills and proven experience working with internal and external business partners, vendors, and suppliers
How you'll make an impact

Lead and manage industry events for key portfolios of Geotab’s business, including pre-planning event execution and post-event reporting.

Lead elements of Geotab’s marquee annual event, Geotab Connect. Work alongside Business Development, Segment Managers, Product, and other internal teams as required. Support in day-to-day liaison with production vendors.

Manage event budgets, invoicing, and provide timely budget reports; oversee logistics planning, including scheduling, vendor management, AV services, catering, and content management.

Develop and oversee relationships with external vendors, ensuring alignment with company brand guidelines, budgets, and strategic business goals.

Partner with internal Geotab teams to produce relevant content for industry events and actively engage in monthly/quarterly focused meetings to develop sales strategies.

Become a SME with regards to the platforms that Geotab events team supports (iCapture, Sendoso, Pheedloop, etc.)

Consult with stakeholders in Revenue Generation (Sales), to ensure strategic alignment of goals and provide recommendations on event-related sales activities.

Develop event-specific organizational tools such as production timelines, contact lists, on-site deliverables and schedules. Ensure stakeholder alignment.

Create and manage event specific content creation, communications, and materials for pre-event, execution, and post-event stages; including outbound email, social media campaigns, videos, presentations, collateral, signage, etc.

Strong ownership and focus on the event approval process. Must play a leading role in business case development and submissions ensuring that events are aligned with key business priorities.

Align with leaders in the implementation of Saleforce.com and Marketing Cloud campaign structures and associated lead tracking. Lead and nurture automation processes to identify ROI results for every event.

Utilize the company’s standardized lead generation process to upload all leads generated from events and complete the post-event ROI process. Compile post event reports/reconciliations, participant/stakeholder evaluations and evaluation summaries.

Read trade publications, attend seminars, and consult with other meeting professionals to keep abreast of meeting management standards and trends.

Actively update the company-wide global events calendar, keeping all details up to date and accurate.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files for all event management projects.

Monitor and understand industry trends, identify issues and opportunities and provide recommended action to appropriate stakeholders, gather, integrate information/research and interpret existing views of the target audience to support the development of future events.

Deliver programs and events to a high level standard of execution and encourage innovation and creativity in event planning and execution.

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to ensure retention and growth of business through repeat events and developed relationships.

Conduct event research where required to ensure Geotab remains competitive in its global event strategy.

What you'll bring to the role
- Bachelors degree Specialization in Business Administration, Marketing or related.

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
- 5-8 years of event experience

Experience with managing a budget

Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides)

Ability to travel to events 6-10 times a year

CMP Designation (Certified Meeting Planner) highly valued.
