What you'll do

The Embedded Engineer works with a team of Engineers to maintain and develop new features for wireless tracking device hardware and firmware. This position designs and implements firmware in embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Develop and maintain firmware for wireless devices and systems.

  • Responsible for hardware design and maintenance as needed. Design, develop, code, test and debug system software.

  • Review code and design.

  • Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources.

  • Integrate and validate new product designs.

  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.

  • Provide post production support.

  • Interface with hardware design and development.

What you’ll bring to this role
  • Embedded C, PIC microcontrollers, Serial communications (SPI, UART, RS232, RS485, etc), wireless data transfer, basic database utilization (MS SQL), sensor interfaces (accelerometers, gyroscopes, temperature probes, etc).

  • Proven work experience in firmware engineering.

  • Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.

  • Solid programming experience in C or C++.

  • Proven experience in embedded systems design.

  • Excellent knowledge of firmware coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems.

  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.

  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
