Geotab is seeking a Security Systems Administrator who will be accountable for the implementation, installation or deployment, and monitoring of Geotab’s new Information Security systems. What you’ll do:

As a Security Systems Administrator your key area of responsibility will be to contribute to task automation, anti-virus efforts, vulnerability scanning, and other IT Security initiatives. You will need to work closely with Security Operations, IT, and Compliance teams to accomplish organizational objectives.

To be successful in this role you will be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. In addition, the successful candidate will be a strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Maintain overall security of Geotab network for all servers, network peripherals, and workstations.

  • Collaborate with the rest of internal security teams to plan and implement Geotab security policies.

  • Research, test, and roll out new Information Security systems.

  • Manage vulnerability scanning systems and work with DevOps and IT teams to ensure systems are patched and updated.

  • Monitor and follow up on malware issues.

  • Compile and maintain up-to-date documentation on all areas of responsibility.

  • Automate repetitive tasks with appropriate scripting languages/tools (e.g. Powershell, Python).

  • Configure and apply permissions in Google Compute Engine or other systems.

  • Configure Firewalls and work with DevOps to automate Firewall configuration.

  • Maintain secrets management and certificate systems and work with DevOps to automate their enrollment and distribution.

What you’ll bring to this role
  • 3-5 years experience working in a Systems Administrator role.

  • Experience working intimately with Security Information Systems.

  • Experience using scripting/coding languages (e.g. Powershell andPython).

  • Experience with Cloud Computing (e.g. GCE, AWS, Azure).

  • Experience with Postgres, SQL Server, and/or Google BigQuery.

  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry an asset.

  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.

  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.

  • Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

  • Professional certification in IT/Security (e.g. Security+, MSCE, Network+).

  • Security certifications like OSCP and CISSP a plus.
