Geotab is seeking a Jira Administrator who will be responsible for configuring the platform and keeping it current to best support a variety of Geotab users who leverage the system. What you’ll do:
As a Jira Admnistrator your key area of responsibility will be to support Jira Service Desk and Jira software administration, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations You will need to work closely with the Business Systems team to assist in minor and major Jira upgrades (including communications), schedule and coordinate maintenance, and lead performance tuning/scaling.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong team player with the ability to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results.
How you’ll make an impact
Support Jira Service Desk and Jira software administration, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations.
Work with the Business Systems team to assist in minor and major Jira upgrades (including communications), schedule and coordinate maintenance, and lead performance tuning/scaling.
Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions.
Conduct training for employees and new hires on Jira regarding how to use the tools, new functionality, etc.
Work with the Learning and Development Team to develop and compile training materials based on the department’s needs.
Create, maintain and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities.
Establish and execute data stewardship and best practices.
Provide User Management and grant user permissions in accordance with company RBAC.
Create and maintain detailed technical and user facing documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise with Jira Projects and workflows.
Interact with existing vendors for support and troubleshooting.
What you’ll bring to this role
1-3 years of experience in Jira administration.
Jira development experience is considered a plus.
Experience working in a SCRUM or Agile environment highly valued.
Experience developing and deploying custom plugins for Jira.
Experience with Jira APIs and Tool Integration.
Experience with Jira Configuration Manager.
Knowledge of applications such as Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Confluence, Planview, and Saba preferred.
Experience with self-hosted environments.
Proficient in Project Setups, Components, JIRA Reporting
Basic understanding of project management principles.
Ability to interpret business requirements and to estimate workload.
Experience in implementation and documentation preferred.
High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
